Die Neoaves sind eine systematische Gruppe innerhalb der Vögel (Aves). Sie umfasst alle modernen Vögel (Aves bzw. Neornithes) unter Ausnahme der Palaeognathae und der Galloanserae.cite-ref-1[1] Die Gruppe wird im PhyloCode von George Sangster und Kollegen (2022) definiert als „die am stärksten inklusive Kronenklade, die Passer domesticus, aber nicht Gallus gallus enthält“.cite-ref-2[2] Fast 95 % der etwa 10.000 bekannten rezenten Vogelarten zählen zu den Neoaves.cite-ref-3[3]
